Bowel Problems? Anal Pain? Is it sore or not?

Some Bowel conditions are not at all painful and others are agonising. The pictures below should give you an idea about the problem of bowel and anal pain.

Sore? yes.


Strangulated Piles. Agony.


Perianal Haematoma Painful, (blood clot).


Anal Fissure. (Tear) Pain on opening bowels.


Anal Abscess. Severe pain.


Fistula. (Small opening into bowel). Slight discomfort.

Sore? no.


Warts. No pain.


Thrush. Itching, no pain.


Prolapsing piles. No pain.


Anal Tags. No pain.


Cancer in bowel.
No pain (occasional bleeding).

Polyp. (Precancerous).
No pain (rare bleeding). As seen on video colonoscopy

IMPORTANT

Follow Up:
All of these conditions require investigation Your doctor will advise you. Colonoscopy is the most important investigation. This will discover or exclude more serious bowel problems e.g. cancer, polyps, colitis and diverticulitis.
